About Us:

ManPsych Magazine is dedicated to psychology, culture, and the good life. All three require a healthy dose of reality. As such, we exist to examine human nature through perspectives often neglected by modern institutions: that men and women are different, that human nature is not infinitely malleable, and that psychology works best when grounded in reality rather than ideology.

Through essays, interviews, research reviews, criticism, and commentary, ManPsych explores masculinity, personality, relationships, meaning, psychotherapy, and the cultural forces shaping modern life. The goal isn’t to overcorrect, but to restore balance and build the vehicle to do it that is both necessary and durable.

When I entered the field of psychotherapy after leaving military special programs, I searched for a publication where thoughtful clinicians, researchers, educators, and readers could wrestle honestly with these questions. I couldn’t find one.

So I built one.

About the Editor:

C.B. Huckabee is a psychotherapist, writer, and former Navy Diver. After nearly a decade of military service, he entered the field of psychology and became increasingly interested in personality, sex differences, masculinity, and the downstream effects of ideological capture within the social sciences. His work has appeared in County Highway, Man’s World Magazine, and elsewhere. He is currently writing Sugar & Spice(a book about the temperamental imbalance in the mental health field) and serves as the editor-in-charge and founder of ManPsych Magazine.
